The cluster is positioning itself as a key player in the transformation of the "business of tomorrow”
Polymeris has included in its roadmap the key themes of this digital transition for the polymer, composite, and rubber industry. This concerns both the challenges of developing high value-added products integrating communication or interactivity functions, but also those related to the industrial performance of production processes with the support of digital data acquisition and processing technologies.
More broadly, the cluster is positioning itself as a key player in the transformation of the "business of tomorrow". Rubber, plastics and composites are becoming increasingly high-performance and functional materials, incorporating advanced materials, electronics and textiles, and combining advanced production technologies, thus becoming an integral part of the roadmap for the industry of the future.
What are the priorities for Phase V?
On the topic of digital transition, Polymeris offers its members project emergence days and industrial efficiency days with presentations by innovative solution providers. On the subjects of workshop supervision, production automation or predictive maintenance with the contribution of artificial intelligence. These topics make sense in the context of soaring energy costs.
For the projects whose R&D phase is finished, POLYMERIS accompanies to help the industrialization through its label, and participates in the industrial development in the territories in connection with the program "PME invest" of France Clusters. These new technologies represented by our most innovative members, from start-ups to large groups, participate in the acceleration of the sector's growth. Directly linked to the “Territoires d'industrie” program, the potential of innovative SMEs brought to this stage thanks to the Cluster's contribution constitutes a breeding ground for transforming R&D into products manufactured in the territories.
The cluster's key actions
Focus on the BEinCPPS project
This project, oriented towards the Factory of the Future, involved two French member structures: the CEA and the Georges Pernoud group. Result: the integration of this technology by the Georges Pernoud group in its product range for a short-term industrialization.
Funding
Funded under the H2020 program, Factory of the Future, and supported by Politecnico di Milano.
Objective
Integrate and experiment cyber-physical production systems (CPS), centered on a platform combining factory/machine/cloud.
Titre
Développement d’un moule connecté, le Smart Tool, pour apporter plus d’intelligence au procédé d’injection des thermoplastiques, améliorer l’efficacité énergétique et faciliter la gestion de production et la maintenance des outillages
Results
Development of a connected mold, the Smart Tool, to bring more intelligence to the thermoplastic injection process, improve energy efficiency and facilitate production management and tooling maintenance.
